Rating: 4.22 stars When I first saw the reels promoting this they were showing off baked goods and/or a cat. I wanted to find out more. This book sounded full of cozy vibes and warm treats. A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic takes place in a magical world full of fantasy creatures. In particular, we are in The Northern Lands in the village of Adenashire. The is a quaint little village with orcs, elves, dwarves, halflings, and many more. It never particularly said if our main character is the only human in the village but she defiantly didn't seem to interact with any others. The world seems to be vaguely middle ages as most fantasy settings are. However, there are stoves and ice boxes, magically worked mostly but still an advancement. Rating: 4.24 stars I received the Fairyloot edition and it is so pretty. That's my first thought. Well, I had already heard of the book and thought the premise sounded cool enough. Then seeing the artwork they came up with was amazing. Upon actually starting the book our character is an arrogant showboat. The world where this story takes place is quite interesting. Most of the world doesn't have magic it is only here in the New Domions. The country is divided up into lands where different types of magic are strongest and thus controlled by those houses. The houses must also work across the territories to help the populace of course. There is the House of Bone, Iron, Gold, Silver, and Stone. When it was announced that it would be a duology it seemed like the right amount of space to give Vesper's story. From the beginning of the book, it looked to be handling the story in a different fashion which worked well. From the way we left her I thought we would be opening up to a new POV in this book. No, we are still following only Vesper in the events that happened after she stopped the storm. She has fully learned how to use the queens powers; just in a different setting than was expected. Vespa is in a between place, the land of the dead somewhat. This is but a stopping point until souls move on to the beyond.
